A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE BRYAN CHESS CLUB

The Bryan Chess Club was started in 1996 by Wayne Sampson and Bob Odstrcil who got together in Wayne Sampson´s home to play chess. Others began to come and we quickly had 8-14 members attending. One regular member, Jim MacArthur graciously allowed the club to move to his place of business in 1998 when Wayne went on Sabbatical in Minnesota. It stayed there until 2004, when it returned to the Sampson´s house.

MEETING TIME

We now meet at 3812 Park Hampton Drive(click here for a map) every Tuesday evening from 7-10 for those who enjoy a game of chess and an occasional Tuesday Quad or Saturday Swiss tournament. All levels of players are welcome. We are not a scholastic club but will allow mature high school students to attend.

We are USCF and TCA affiliated and encourage tournament play.
